The challenge

A Platform That Cannot Be a Spark

Painting and refinishing stealth aircraft requires safe elevated access while operating within strict Class I, Division 1 hazardous-location requirements — meaning the platform had to eliminate ignition sources, provide redundant safety features, and support fall protection, all without slowing down technician productivity.

Safety and Utilities, Both Inside the Envelope

JE engineered a lightweight aluminum, height-adjustable platform with integrated fall protection, redundant safety features, integrated electrical and pneumatic utilities, and under-wing lighting — all specifically designed for safe operation inside the hazardous paint booth environment.
