Material, geometry, tolerance, quality, schedule, and downstream requirements are evaluated before any production approach is defined. Which of the six is binding is what actually differs between the four capabilities — and it is the useful thing to know before a requirements call.
All 6 criteria are evaluated on every job. Exactly one binds per capability, and it is a different one each time — which is why naming the hard criterion up front shortens the conversation more than listing equipment does.
