The challenge

What "Almost Works" Looks Like on a Production Floor

The customer needed safe access to engine components during manufacturing while maintaining production efficiency. A competitor-designed solution addressed some requirements but didn’t align with the customer’s actual workflow, facility layout, or production process — creating ongoing operational friction rather than a fix.

The six work points are identical in both views. One flat deck at a single height serves two of them; a deck stepped to each work point serves all six. That difference is the whole of "almost works."

JE began with an on-site evaluation of the manufacturing environment, observing production activities and engaging directly with operators and engineers. Rather than modifying the customer’s workflow to fit a standard platform, JE designed the platform around the workflow itself.
